Hotel Paradies [Switzerland]
Myriad mountains, natural beauty as far as the eye can see, and a feeling of perfect calm. The Hotel Paradies is set on one of Switzerland’s loveliest sunny plateaus, with a magnificent panoramic view over the Engadine mountains. Art has always been at home here: in 1910 the painter Hans Walter Bayer took his inspiration from the superb Engadine scenery, and in one of its most beautiful spots he built a small hideaway for himself and his wife, which he named ”Il Paradis”.
Together they entertained their first guests in the sitting room, which is now the library. This paradise in Ftan in Engadin has been run as a hotel since 1967 and now boasts one of the finest restaurants in the Swiss Alps.
