Feynan Eco Lodge [Jordan]
Even from the rocks that lie in your path it is possible to build something beautiful. A fitting statement, proudly displayed on the door of the Feynan Eco Lodge in the middle of the desert in Jordan. The Lodge is situated in the village of Rummana, next to the ancient Feynan ruins, and is really only accessible on foot. The trek through the Wadi Dana dry valley takes six hours, but very few choose to take the Jeep to the hotel, as the journey on foot is the real goal.
Mobile phones remain silent in the Feynan Eco Lodge. There is no Internet. Air conditioning has been dispensed with. In the evenings, atmosphere is provided by 250 lit candles, as there is no electric light after the sun goes down. The starlight is much more beautiful anyway.
