AMANWANA [Indonesia]
On the remote Indonesian island of Moyo, Aman founder Adrian Zecha found a wonderful location for an elegant tented camp. In 1993 he set up twenty exclusive tents. Then Princess Diana arrived looking for somewhere to stay, and the luxury tents became famous around the world. Princess Diana didn’t really sleep in an ordinary tent, of course. What had been built here were in fact tented houses with a fabric covering on the inside - luxurious retreats which give a real sense of closeness to the surrounding wilderness.
At night you get the feeling that the monkeys, red deer and numerous bird species of the jungle are right by your bedside. Amanwana is a perfect place to go exploring on long walks, but fans of all kinds of water sports will also find plenty to get their heart pumping at this nature reserve to the east of Bali.
